The Alicia 2-in-1 Top is a fabulous addition to the Alicia knitwear collection but it also looks great co-ordinated with other garments, thus sticking to my mix and match principles. I fell in love with the striped fabric, but as the stretch of the fabric goes with the stripe I couldn't use the stripe vertically. I therefore had to work a design that would lengthen the petite figure rather than allowing the horizontal stripes to broaden it. The bright colour of the stripe draws the eye vertically while the dark of the grey marl waterfall grey front panels shades the width. As these panels are beautifully shaped into the waist at the side seams, it means that leaving the waterfall panels to flow loosely over the tummy will be perfectly flattering. Belting or pinning the waterfall with a brooch can be equally as flattering and can give you alternative looks. The colours of the stripes in the fabric were so irrisistable I had to bring you all three colourways: red, magenta and turquoisel. They are all equally as lovely and the fact that the stripe is irregular also helps to add to the disguise.
I know many of my customer don't like high necks, so I designed the top with a cowl neck allowing the stripes to fall loosely on the neckline. I think this works well, I hope you do too.
